Dr. Tahsin Rashid

  • Dr. Rashid graduated from the University of Alberta in 2009 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology.
  • He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2013.
  • Through his participation in externships, conferences, and research, Dr. Rashid has demonstrated expertise in all branches of Optometry. While at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto, CA and San Jose, CA, he managed patients with a high prevalence of ocular and systemic disease.
  • During his time in Silicon Valley, Dr. Rashid became interested in myopia control, which led him to become skilled in fitting specialty contact lenses to patients of all ages.
    While in the Advanced Pediatrics tract at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, he received in-depth training in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy.
  • During his career, Dr. Rashid has continued to expand his knowledge in holistic well-being including: mind-body medicine, psychoneuroimmunology, epigenetics, and quantum physics.

He is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Alberta Association of Optometrists, and the Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Rashid enjoys being active in his spare time with his wife and son, playing hockey, cycling, and traveling.

Dr. Lakshmi Easwaran

Dr. Easwaran has been practicing Optometry in Canada for fourteen years. She earned her Master’s in Vision Science from the University of Waterloo and completed the International Bridging Program. Since 2010, she has been practicing in Alberta, where she prioritizes open communication and patient education, alongside delivering high-quality optometric care. Dr. Easwaran enjoys trying new recipes and going on walks during her free time. She speaks English and Tamil.

Afsha Rashid

Afsha graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She graduated from a Registered Nurse program in Alabama in 2014.

Throughout her high school, undergraduate, and nursing education, Afsha spent several years working at Optometric clinics, learning how to manage them both operationally and financially.

In 2014, Afsha got married to Dr. Rashid, and relocated to Edmonton. Although Afsha is a licensed RN in Alabama; she enjoys her role as Office Manager at Envision Eye Care.

Afsha enjoys travelling the world with her husband and son, cycling, cooking, and spending time with their cat, Nemo.

Natalie

Natalie is our licensed optician. She received her optical sciences diploma from NAIT in 2012 and has previously practiced in Airdrie and Cochrane. Natalie enjoys being outdoors and can be frequently seen running and biking along the trails. She is the recipient of a White Hat Award for customer service and looks forward to helping with all your optical needs.

Yalda

Yalda is our lead optometric assistant. She has a degree in Interior Design and enjoys all things to do with fashion. Yalda moved to Edmonton in 2013. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. When she is not at work, you can find her baking, painting, biking, and walking. Yalda is passionate about children’s eye health and helping people choose their favorite frames. Yalda is happy to provide services in both English and Farsi.

Rupali

Rupali is our Optometric assistant. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2022 with a major in Finance and minor in Marketing. In her spare time, she likes to read, bake, and go on walks with her dogs Ruby and Kodak. Rupali is also a volunteer with Zoe’s Animal Rescue and can be found fostering puppies during the summer. Rupali enjoys fashion and keeping up with the latest trends. She looks forward to helping patients pick the best frame for their style.

Yuliia

Yuliia is our optometric assistant. She moved to Edmonton in 2023, bringing a background in medical education and experience in the field. She is passionate about helping others and happy to assist in English, Ukrainian, or Russian. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and daughter, and is a big fan of dogs and the Marvel universe.

Harnoor

Harnoor is our optometric assistant. She is currently a student at MacEwan University, majoring in Human Resources with double minors in Marketing and Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys family outings and adventures with her cousins. A dedicated Oilers fan, you can often find her cheering them on during hockey season. Harnoor is passionate about helping people with their eyesight and loves assisting them in finding the perfect frames.

Amit

Amit is our optometric assistant. With over 3 years of experience in the optical field, Amit advanced her career as a registered dental hygienist, a role she has now held for 2 years. Amit remains in the eye care field due to her passion for both eye and dental health. Outside of work, she is a competitive Punjabi folk dancer. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Jack, traveling, and socializing with friends and family. Amit is also pleased to offer services in both English and Punjabi.

Genesis

Genesis is our optometric assistant. She is enthusiastic with a passion for helping others see clearly. Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, she combines her people skills with a creative flair. Her personable nature and positive energy make her a valuable asset to our team.
